The Office of Financial Aid at Mountwest Community & Technical College is designed to give you the opportunity to obtain the resources you need to enroll at Mountwest. The cost to attend Mountwest differs for each student, depending on where you live, program of study and how many credits you take. The chart below provides estimated average full-time costs for students for the 2025-2026 academic year and is provided for planning purposes. Note that these amounts are average amounts, and you should refer to the Tuition and Fees page for exact costs. Cost of Attendance (COA) is the average cost to attend for one academic year. This includes actual and/or estimated numbers for tuition and fees, books and supplies, room and board, transportation, and personal expenses. Tuition and fee rates vary by a student’s residency and enrollment status. The tuition and fee component in a student’s COA is a standard amount based on full-time enrollment.

At Mountwest Community & Technical College, we know there are often many obstacles in the way of students beginning their college career. How to pay for college shouldn’t be one of them.

The Office of Financial Aid at Mountwest is designed to give you the opportunity to obtain the resources you need to enroll at Mountwest. There are grants, loans, and many tax advantages available to you because you attend a college. We’ll work hard on your benefit to get you what you need.

We ask that you complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid as soon after January 1st as possible. We suggest you file electronically https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa at  The students and at least one parent (for dependent students) will need to create an FSA ID to fully complete their FAFSA as well as access other U.S. Department of Education websites.

The recommended completion date for the FAFSA is March 1st. Tax information is needed to complete the FAFSA. Taxes do not need to be filed prior to submitting the FAFSA as the option of estimating income information is available; however, any estimated information should be updated with actual information as soon as possible.

You will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) at the email address you provided on your FAFSA application. Be sure to review your SAR for errors and make corrections as needed.
