Choose from more than 50 one-year certificate and associate degree programs. In addition to Associate in Applied Science offerings, Mountwest also offers Associate in Arts and Associate in Science pathways for those planning to pursue a baccalaureate degree.

Mountwest Community and Technical College offers a variety of sponsored scholarships based on academic achievement, leadership, community involvement, area of study and financial need. Scholarships opportunities are available open for the fall and spring semester. Students will need to apply between October 1-31st for Spring 2023 scholarships. The scholarship portal will reopen in March 2023 for Fall 2023 scholarships.
The Office of Advising, Veteran Affairs & Accessibility Services strives to promote student success by empowering, educating, and enabling students to take ownership and control of achieving their academic goals and plans, preparing them for civic responsibility and careers. We are dedicated to delivering high-quality advising services and providing timely academic resources and pertinent information to the student body.
Advising, Accessibility Services, and Veterans Student Services are located in the One-Stop for Student Services on the college’s main campus in Room 101.
Career Services
At Mountwest, Career Services functions as a vital component of the total educational experience for Mountwest students. Our innovative programs, services, and resources provide assistance to students in the following areas:
Monday-Thursday – 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Friday – 8:00 am- 3:00 pm
Our customer-driven approach recognizes that while each student’s needs are unique, the cultivation and enhancements of one’s career management skills are critical to success. The Office of Career Services at Mountwest facilitates relationships with students, alumni and employers and empowers students to take charge of their own futures.
The Career Services Center is located on the first floor, Room 110B. Appointments are available and walk-ins are always welcome! The Center provides computers and desk space for students and alumni needing a guiding hand in resume writing or job search assistance. Plenty of resources are available to help with career planning at any stage!

Promise Scholarship applicants must complete the Promise Scholarship Application and file the FAFSA by March 1.
WV residents must file the FAFSA by April 15 for WV Higher Education Grant consideration.

Federal Work-Study students should complete and submit required paperwork to the Office of Financial Aid by August 1.
Mountwest plans to host a financial aid workshop on Thursday, November 4th from 3pm-7pm at our main campus (One Mountwest Way, Huntington, WV).

The Associate of Arts (AA) degree with a concentration in Behavioral Science will provide the graduate with an educational core that could lead to a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science.
Learn the skills necessary to install, maintain, calibrate and repair medical equipment in hospitals, doctors’ offices, dental offices and anywhere medical equipment is used.
The Board of Governors Associate of Applied Science Degree is an interdisciplinary studies degree that assist adult learners to meet occupational goals, employment requirements, establish professional credentials, or achieve personal goals.
The Certified Coding Specialist serves as a qualified technician in analyzing and classifying medical data. Using universally recognized coding systems (ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT-4), the Certified Coding Specialist assigns codes to diagnoses, injuries, and procedures found in the records of patients.
The Occupational Development A.A.S. degree is designed to provide for cooperatively sponsored educational opportunities leading to the Associate in Applied Science degree for students in registered apprenticeship training programs and to provide a mechanism for Mountwest Community & Technical College to deliver educational programs to individuals employed in the Child Development field.
The Criminal Justice Degree is available to on-campus students and law enforcement officers who have attended an approved law enforcement academy.
The hospitality and food service industry is a large, diverse field that provides challenging and exciting career opportunities for people from all walks of life.

Mountwest is now open 7 days a week, with official business hours 5 days a week. Students and the community can expect to find appropriate offices staffed so that they may conduct business with the college during the following hours:

The main campus is located on 28 acres just minutes from I-64 and downtown Huntington. The campus features a 115,000-square foot academic building with five floors of classroom, laboratory and office space, student services one stop, library and resource center, and bookstore.

The Center for Culinary Arts is the ideal arena to prepare you for joining the culinary industry. Our 14,000 square foot facility houses a lecture hall, classrooms, production and lab kitchens with room to expand to meet future culinary arts professionals’ needs.
